Tesla & Toyota: A New Partnership
Toyota recently invested $50 million in Tesla Motors, the electric sports car company. The money will go toward buying an auto plant in Freemont, California. There, they plan to produce 20,000 electric vehicles per year.
The cars produced at the plant will by Toyota cars, utilizing Tesla’s technology in electric drive trains. The first cars will be coming off the line in 2012, and will cost about $50K. The first car (pictured here) will be the Model S sedan.
